Dr. Ronald D. Redwing
Senior Lecturer
Department of Materials Science and Engineering
N156 Millennium Science Complex
College of Earth and Mineral Sciences
The Pennsylvania State University

Hello, my name is Ron Redwing. I am a senior lecturer in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Although I only joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in 2016, I have been at Penn State for over fifteen years, the last five as an Associate Dean in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. Before that, I was in the Department of Physics starting as an instructor and finishing as a senior lecturer. I am originally from Missouri and received my Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. In addition to my teaching duties here at Penn State, I am currently setting up a laboratory to grow 2D layered bulk crystals. These crystals are similar to a nano-material we will be discussing in the course, graphene. When I am not working at Penn State or trying to keep up with my family members I enjoy catching a game or sports highlight on television of one of my favorite sports teams: Kansas City Royals, Wisconsin Men's Basketball, or Penn State Football.
