We do not go into extensive details with each and every renewable energy technology in this course. You will find extensive definitions and applications of RE technologies in other courses within the RESS program. For this Lesson, you should have learned enough to be able to do a scoping of energy needs, equivalents, particularly against their fossil fuel equivalents (FFEs). Some example of a scoping exercise will be on the midterm test. We will come back to scoping, more specifically, in Lesson 5 and 6.
For Lesson 4, the main objectives are that you should be able to complete a sketch of the SWOT analysis of the main forms of RE and be able to identify the various steps of the Energy Life Cycle.
