Challenges in Global Geospatial Analytics

Assign Tasks for Your Group Members

For this course, you will be divided into groups. Each group will consist of three or four members. Each group will need to assign individuals to the following roles:

(1) Project Manager

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • organizing workflow;
  • assigning tasks;
  • liaisoning with other group leaders;
  • reporting results; and
  • interfacing with the project management software.

(1 or 2) Programmer/Designer-Researcher

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • handling the research, development, and implementation of software (or software concept) for the refugee data.

(1) Social Media/Reporting Manager

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • disseminating updates to Facebook, Twitter, GitHub, etc., on progress that their group is making; and
  • compiling information from the project management software and formalizing it into a report for distribution.

Collaborating With Your Group

It is crucial for this project that you communicate with the other members of your group. Canvas has functionality that will allow you to share resources and information, and even meet online. Your parkscape group has its own workspace within Canvas where you can:

By clicking on Groups in the Canvas menu, you can access your parkscape group work space. This space is unique to your group. I will be able to see what is happening in the group, but other groups will not. Use the discussion forums and conferences to meet and discuss/delegate tasks for the parkscape video project.
