Summary and Final Tasks

Summary

We have introduced land use planning, along with more recent approaches, including landscape ecological planning and geodesign. Whether it is Marcellus Shale, other resources or other complex community issues, land use planning provides a platform to study, evaluate and envision the stories and voices that can be expressed through the landscape.

The planning process is not exclusive, but inclusive and can occur at many levels and many scales. Landowners, as well as community members, can identify and prioritize community and landscape resources through the planning process. They can also come to appreciate that within complex decisions there are multiple perspectives, voices, and stories to understand.
